Mcor’s new Auto Waste Removal (AWR) feature delivers full colour models at twice the speed!
For any of you familiar with 3D Printing you will realise that post-processing is part of the course and if you want a full colour model, you will have to either remove powder or in our case paper waste material. So to 3D print in full colour the removal of the waste material is necessary and can increase printing and post-processing time.
Overall our full colour 3D Printing platform, SDL (Selective Deposition Lamination) is better than most because as the name suggests the adhesive is applied across the build in a selective manner with more adhesive applied on the support material and less on the model itself so that the waste material removal is straightforward. It is also a safe process, with no dust or fumes or toxic liquids involved.
BUT what if I told you that we have a new feature that automatically removes the waste material on certain full colour models during the build – no more post-processing. Introducing Auto Waste Removal (AWR) on the ARKe!

In the video, we are printing four faces and you will see the build finish with four fully printed models evident. This new feature automatically removes the waste material on these models during the build which makes the printing twice as fast and significantly reduces the post-processing time! This is a software update that can easily be implemented on any ARKe system, no new hardware involved!
Removal of waste material in any 3D printing process can increase the printing time so we see this as a huge breakthrough for full colour 3D printing.
